Here are some frequent questions answered:

  • How do I order trading pins for the state competition?

Go to the ‘State’ menu and click on the ‘Pin Trading’ page for complete instruction.

  • Why have I not received my teams State pin order in the mail yet?

State pin orders are NOT sent to teams.  The orders are picked up close to the information booth at the State Competition by a coach.

  • When will the state tournament schedule be posted?

The state of California has 10 different regions which have their regional tournaments on several different weekends.  All regional tournaments need to be completed and much planning needs to happen for such a large state.  The state tournament schedule will be posted a week prior to tournament and you will be notified of its posting.

  • How do I register a judge for the state competition?

Contact your regional director with the judges information so that the director can complete the advancement of the judge to the state level.

  • Can I request a special time to perform a long-term problem solution?

Coaches can make scheduling requests using the “special requests” section on the team registration form when registering.  Scheduling requests can only be related to timing conflicts for students competing on multiple teams, coaches coaching multiple teams, or exceptional circumstances as approved by the state director for the state tournament.   We make every effort to honor requests of this nature but due to the size of the tournament it is not always possible.

  1. What types of modifications may be made on the Long term solutions? May we add to the script and improve costumes?

      Your team may decided to make changes in their long term solution. There are no limitations placed on teams regarding changes. This is a program that is about creativity and the creativity never stops.

      The Team Must Provide
      1. Four copies of its Style Form, one Cost Form, one Outside Assistance Form, and all team-specific clarifications.
      2. Four copies of the Problem list. This list is to assist the judges. If the team fails to provide the list, there will
      be no penalty; however, it benefits the team to have the lists because without them the judges might miss a scored
      aspect of the performance.
